The Hawaii Wushu Center
Beijing University Martial Arts Camp - The The Hawaii Wushu Center cosponsors
a one week Summer Martial Arts Camp with the Beijing University of Physical
Education (the top martial arts school in China). This is a truly great camp
at an incredibly cheap price. People who attend the camp will be allowed to
study the Chinese martial arts of their choice (both modern and traditional)
with one of the University's instructors. All of the teachers are national
champions or recognized masters. The camp costs $US 800, which includes basic
transportation in Beijing, room, all meals, all instructional fees, guided
tours in the evenings, and a special weekend guided tour. There are also optional
one week tours after the camp. The summer 1998 camp included two optional
tours. One to Xian, and then on to Labrang, at the edge of Tibet and a second
one to Shaolin Temple and Wudang Shan. Each was an additional $US 950 including
everything (airfare, room, meals, etc.). Contact Chip Ellis (chipper@aloha.net)
and Xiu Zhang in Honolulu, Hawaii.
